Etymologically guru refers to teacher and kul is derived from kula, which denotes an extended family. Guru-kul thus denotes an integrated environment where knowledge seekers from all walks of life learn the value, mission and the ultimate purpose of basic human existence in a systematic and structured manner under the direct tutelage of a knowledge provider. The word Gurukulam is used frequently in southern part of India owing to the influence of Tamil, where the Sanskrit root work kula and the Tamil word kulam refer to Heritage, or domain or extended family or in some aspects, Demography.

Education must from character. Mere intellect was not of worth if the person was devoid of not much morality. Morality or the right behavior was the higher “Dharma”. Education was regarded as a means of inculcating values such as strict obedience to elders, truthfulness, honesty and temperance.
DEVELOPMENT OF ALL ROUND PERSONALITY
Personality should be developed through education. Personality was developed through the following methods:-
(d) Discrimination and judgement

Our mission is to foster each child’s well-being as a foundation for academic and life success by drawing on the strengths of the child’s entire community including family, educators, medical and mental health providers. Attention to physical culture, devotion to duty, obedience to teachers, hospitality to guests, zest for life, love for the nation and above all, humility and faith in the presence of God etc., are the values sought to be inculcated.
The first group experience is obtained in preschool. Children get their experiences with their contemporaries whose interests and capacities are at about the same level as their own.
In group-relationships children are enabled to build a realistic self-concept. They learn about themselves from the estimation of others.
They find strength and safety through group membership. The feeling that they belong to a group gives them a great sense of confidence. In a Preschool, the teacher gives guidance in social development. For example, children learn about desirable techniques for socialization. They also learn about property rights and taking turns. Children learn the fundamentals of sharing at home. In preschool, they continues to learn about sharing, taking turns and possessions.
